Our Story
Founded in February 2002, AK Developments began as a small family business with just five employees and a vision to deliver exceptional construction projects across Anglesey. Our first project – three detached three-bedroom homes in Benllech – became the catalyst for our company's growth and established our reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
Over the past 23 years, we've built more than just structures – we've built relationships, communities, and a legacy of excellence across the island. From our early coastal developments in Benllech and Llangristiolus to our prestigious Rhianfa Lodge project, our journey has been marked by continuous growth, adaptation, and a relentless pursuit of perfection.
Today, AK Developments stands as a testament to what can be achieved through hard work, integrity, and a genuine passion for construction. With 19 experienced professionals and many long-serving team members, we remain committed to our core values of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction that have guided us since day one.
Our Journey
Foundation
AK Developments was founded in February with just five employees, beginning with a coastal project in Benllech: three detached three-bedroom homes that became the catalyst for the company's growth.
Second Development
Delivered our second scheme in September, creating two detached three-bedroom bungalows in Llangristiolus, building on our early success.
Record Sales
Our third development—four semi-detached three-bedroom houses—sold in record time by November, demonstrating growing market confidence.
Team Expansion
Rising demand led us to focus increasingly on contracting work and expand our team to 11 skilled and motivated staff.
Development Growth
Returned to development with a four-home site in Gaerwen in 2008, followed by completion of a second phase there in 2010: a mix of two- and three-bedroom town houses.
Sustained Growth
AK Developments grew year on year, undertaking new developments in Llangefni and Llanfair PG, plus bespoke new builds and high-end refurbishments.
Rhianfa Lodge
Created Rhianfa Lodge, a seven-bedroom, five-star hotel annexe to Château Rhianfa on the banks of the Menai Strait.
Pandemic Resilience
The COVID-19 pandemic brought challenges for everyone, yet AK Developments continued to operate successfully and maintained our commitment to quality.
Today & Future
Our direct workforce numbers 19 experienced professionals, many with us for years, embodying our ethos of quality and craftsmanship. We look ahead with confidence to 2026 and beyond.
